TCA's antidepressant used for anxiety , OCD, GAD, and other related illness The mechanism of action of Imipramine Hydrochloride is not definitely known. However, it does not act primarily by stimulation of the central nervous system. The clinical effect is hypothesized as being due to potentiation of adrenergic synapses by blocking uptake of norepinephrine at nerve endings
IMIPRAMINE 25 MG
Tofranil- Imipramine is one of the most effective anti depressant and cost less , you may need 1-4 weeks to notice some changes.
Do not stop this medicication suddenly if you still didn't get better.
Report to us any unsual or unplesant side effects after the treatment.
Dosage :
To avoid unpleasant side effects try taking 25 mg for the 1st week, then 50 mg for 1 month , then 75-100 mg for other 2 months until you feel totally well and the medication controlled your symptoms the maximum daily dose : 300 mg , do not duplicate the dose if you miss it .
Tofranil-Imipramine not only used for Depression treatment it is also used for night bedwetting , premature ejaculation.
Side effetcs ;
- tingly feeling, weakness, lack of coordination;
- dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea;
- blurred vision, ringing in your ears;
- breast swelling (in men or women); or.
- decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm.
You may experience these side effects, or some, or none at all conditions vary from a patient to an other.
You may need an anti anxiety such as Clonazepam-RIVOTRIL 0.5 MG to tolerate the anti depressant side effects ( is not a must but just worked for most of people )
